Coronavirus claims actor Mark Blum

With Covid-19 claiming lives, another amongst many that were lost today was Mark Blum. A veteran stage actor he acted in many films like Desperately Seeking Susan” and “Crocodile Dundee. Mark was 69 and he was Covid-19 positive. He dies of coronavirus complications.

A frequent Broadway actor, he was a part of the act called the revival of “Twelve Angry Men.” In one of his best-known movies, Desperately Seeking Susan, Blum acted along with Modonna and Rossana Arquette. He also appeared in supporting TV roles on the HBO series “Succession,” the Netflix drama “You” and Amazon’s “Mozart in the Jungle.”

Blum has exclusively associated with Playwrights Horizon an off-board way theatre in New York.  New York is being increasingly quoted as the epicentre of the virus in the United States.

In their tribute to Mark Blum, the theatre group stated “With love and heavy hearts, Playwrights Horizons pays tribute to Mark Blum, a dear longtime friend and a consummate artist who passed this week. Thank you, Mark, for all you brought to our theatre and audiences across the world. We will miss you.”

He was the second case of coronavirus case in the theatre community of New York.
